Authentic, ethical leadership includes the ability to answer two crucial questions:

•“What is really going on?”

•“What are we going to do about it?”

Action Wheel Leadership, Inc. carries forward the work of Dr. Robert Terry who pioneered the ideas surrounding authenticity in leadership in his book Authentic Leadership: Courage in Action and in his later volume Seven Zones for Leadership.

The Action Wheel model that Bob developed gives organizations, and individuals within organizations, a practical tool to frame and resolve issues that then lead to authentic actions.

Hi Rachel and Jamie-

Thanks for your comments, and for confirming that I'm not crazy to have this sense that B-K is 'authentic' and special. I know that people who are close-in stakeholders (e.g., employees, authors, interns, publicists) know that B-K is special, and now I'm starting to think about the 'average' management scholar walking by the B-K booth... does s/he have a sense of what makes B-K distinctive?

Maybe I'll do a person-in-the-hall survey at the Academy meetings. (Will you be there? Rachel, that might be a fun intern-y learning oppty....)
