Sometimes organizations fail, and you just don’t care that much.
Other times organizations fail, and you wonder why you care SO much.

It’s a failure in the second category that’s making me sad today.
With Fountains of Wayne, Route 46 sustains its authenticity as the scenic route from the Hudson to the Delaware.
Without Fountains of Wayne, Route 46 is just another generic strip-mall-access-road, in Anytown, USA.
Is it so hard to make a business, in New Jersey, out of garden gnomes, lawn furniture, plastic lawn deer, and the eponymous fountains?

That’s gotta be some serious inside stuff–I’m (literally) scratching my noggin right now!
It maybe that they overestimated the appeal of their new “gnomes in bondage” brand extension (see first photo).
