		<description>Sandy, it was your post about &quot;organizational  weight loss &quot; (http://managementwisdom.typepad.com/my_weblog/2008/10/organizational.html)  that got me thinking about what is probably the biggest unanticipated cost of layoffs -- the idea that expertise just walks out the door when employees do AND that so few organizations plan ahead for this -- ouch.  And even if the organization did plan ahead, who would really want to share their hard earned knowledge with the organization that doesn&#039;t think they are important enough to employ? Hard logic to get around.</description>
